Good Neighbors Home Repair, a small nonprofit in Chester County, Pennsylvania, helps create safer homes by making them warmer, drier, and healthier places to live for low-income individuals and families. With an impressive thirty-year track record of working in the local community, the organization has proven its impact. What it needed was a stronger web presence to support this good work.

The Challenge
Good Neighbors Home Repair had a strong 30-year track record serving low-income homeowners, but its website didn’t reflect the depth or impact of its work. While the site contained essential information, it lacked a clear narrative, compelling visuals, and intuitive pathways for homeowners, volunteers, and donors. The organization needed a stronger digital presence to better communicate its mission and drive meaningful action.
Approach
I began by auditing the existing site and identifying opportunities to clarify the story and improve usability. The homepage was reorganized to foreground the mission, homeowner videos, and testimonials, while navigation was restructured around key audience groups. Visual identity updates, streamlined copy, improved forms, and strategically placed calls-to-action helped create a more cohesive and engaging user experience.
Deliverables
The project included a redesigned homepage, updated navigation architecture, refreshed visual identity (new photography and graphics), and optimized forms and copy. Clear CTA buttons for email signup, volunteering, and donations were added across key pages. The result was a modern, user-centered website aligned with the organization’s mission and goals.
Outcomes
The redesigned website significantly improved usability, engagement, and clarity of mission. Visitors can now more easily find information and take action, resulting in longer session times and stronger interaction with key conversion points. The refreshed design better reflects the professionalism and impact of the organization, strengthening trust and expanding its reach among homeowners, volunteers, and donors.
